Pure Altruism for a Better Future

Support That Meets You Where You Are

Every family’s situation is different. Some clients need help preparing for mediation. Others need support understanding a complicated system, communicating with professionals, organizing records, developing parenting strategies, completing case-related goals, or managing the emotional and practical demands of a crisis.

Pure Altruism offers flexible, family-centered services designed to complement—not replace—the work of attorneys, therapists, caseworkers, evaluators, educators, and other licensed professionals. During an initial consultation, we will discuss your concerns, identify the support you are seeking, clarify the scope of our role, and determine whether Pure Altruism is an appropriate fit.

Family Advocacy and Systems Navigation

When multiple agencies, professionals, deadlines, and expectations are involved, families can quickly feel as though they have lost their voice. Family advocacy helps clients understand the general process around them, prepare for meetings, organize information, communicate concerns, and remain focused on their goals.

Support May Include

  • Identify and clearly communicate the family’s primary concerns
  • Prepare questions for attorneys, schools, providers, caseworkers, or agencies
  • Organize records, timelines, communications, appointments, and action items
  • Attend eligible meetings as an advocate or support person
  • Help clients understand professional roles and general system processes
  • Support appropriate communication among members of a multidisciplinary team
  • Connect families with community resources and services
  • Document progress, strengths, barriers, and unmet needs
  • Support informed, child-centered planning and decision-making

Family advocacy is not legal representation. Pure Altruism does not speak for clients in court, provide case-specific legal advice, or replace the guidance of a licensed attorney.

Parenting Coaching and Family Support

Parenting during separation, court involvement, trauma, behavioral challenges, disability, or major family change can feel isolating and exhausting. Parenting coaching offers a structured, nonjudgmental space for parents to develop practical tools, improve communication, strengthen routines, and respond to their children’s needs with greater confidence.

Support May Include

  • Child-centered co-parenting practices
  • Parallel parenting in high-conflict situations
  • Communication and boundary setting
  • Age-appropriate expectations
  • Parent and child emotional regulation
  • Consistency and routines across households
  • Transition planning and reunification support
  • Rebuilding trust after conflict or separation
  • Preparing for difficult conversations
  • Recognizing trauma responses and behavioral triggers
  • Developing realistic, measurable parenting goals

Parenting coaching is educational and supportive. It is not psychotherapy, legal advice, custody evaluation, or a substitute for mental-health treatment.

PSYCHOEDUCATION & EDUCATION

Education That Turns Information Into Action

Understanding why people respond the way they do can create space for change. Pure Altruism offers individual, family, professional, and group psychoeducation that translates research and systems knowledge into practical tools people can use in everyday life.

Support May Include

  • Trauma and the nervous system
  • Adverse childhood experiences
  • Child and adolescent development
  • Attachment and relational safety
  • Conflict cycles and communication patterns
  • Emotional regulation and healthy boundaries
  • Domestic-violence dynamics and safety awareness
  • Parenting through separation and transition
  • Grief, identity, and family change
  • Neurodiversity and disability-informed support
  • Preparing for professional or multidisciplinary meetings
  • Self-advocacy, empowerment, and systems navigation

Psychoeducation is not psychotherapy, diagnosis, medical treatment, or legal advice.

Certified Mediation Services

Mediation gives people an opportunity to address conflict in a structured, neutral, and respectful setting. As a Certified Mediator, MAREE supports productive communication, helps participants identify areas of agreement and disagreement, and assists them in exploring workable options.

The mediator does not represent either participant, decide who is right, or provide legal advice. Participants remain responsible for their own decisions and are encouraged to consult independent attorneys before signing agreements that may affect legal rights.

Support May Include

  • Parenting and co-parenting communication
  • Household roles, schedules, and shared expectations
  • Family and interpersonal disagreements
  • Separation-related communication
  • Post-decree communication concerns
  • Professional or community conflict
  • Boundary and responsibility agreements
  • Nonlegal family-planning discussions

Mediation may not be appropriate where safety concerns, coercive control, threats, or a severe imbalance in participation prevents free and informed decision-making.

SELF-REPRESENTED LITIGANT SUPPORT

Organization, Education, and Referral Support

People representing themselves may need help staying organized, understanding general court processes, preparing questions, and finding reliable resources.

Pure Altruism may provide nonlegal education, administrative organization, coaching, and referral support while remaining clear that it cannot act as the person’s attorney.

Support May Include

  • Organize records, calendars, and personal timelines
  • Prepare questions for a legal clinic or consulting attorney
  • Locate publicly available court and community resources
  • Develop meeting and communication plans
  • Support stress management and follow-through
  • Provide referrals to licensed attorneys or legal-aid resources

Pure Altruism does not select legal forms, tell clients what to write in pleadings, interpret the law for a specific case, or appear in court as legal counsel. The website should not label this service “unbundled legal services” unless it is offered through an authorized licensed legal professional.

  • Document attempts and completion
  • Provide an affidavit or return of service when applicable

DEPENDENCY & NEGLECT / CHILD-WELFARE SUPPORT
