A blended family with a handful of kids they question daily just exactly how they are surviving, and the answer is simple. They grew up with contentious divorced parents who remarried when they were young. In a series of young and dumb choices.
They married at 21 to their high school sweetheart despite all protests and divorced quickly while still maintaining a deep care and friendship with Their first Partner.
Then married a 2nd time to a human who treated them like royalty until the mask unveiled the true nature of things. They had been through the ups and downs of each aspect of this journey and that's why they are the parent that they are today. Unlike the first, this was not an amicable or kind parting. Spending over $100K in legal fees, it was full of contention, abuse, and violation of safety.
They quickly learned first-hand what it is like to be a victim to abuse of the other party, the courts (by enabling the behavior) and the system (by lack of enforcement). Immediately resulting in learning the ins and outs of how to navigate through the icky stuff of a divorce.
They now have a partner who is their best friend and right hand in everyday-to-day adventure, and they have a village that rallies and supports them in everything they do. Both coming from abusive, toxic, and narcissistic relationships, they had to learn how to navigate not just the system but through life, parenthood, coparenting and a relationship throughout what seems to be a never ending “battle.”
They have been a single parent, an abused parent, a working parent and through all this managed to find a balance unwavering passion to Their children while maintaining their identity as a person, not just a parent.
As a parent, their goal is to love and nurture, pouring into their children to develop them to hopefully be better humans than we are. Showing them how to advocate and support others, lifting those who struggle to keep themselves up for a season is a compassion They strive to show their children through their work.
Through the day-to-day shuffle, it is filled with love, compassion, grace and understanding that each of these kids have experienced their parents splitting up, and getting in new relationships, showing us just how much our choices and experiences truly impact our kids.
Our number one goal is to teach our kids alongside our partner that generational trauma ends with us, and it is okay to feel all the feels while navigating through it in healthy productive ways.
They have spent much of their adult life sharing stories of struggles and hardship to support others. They have dabbled in writing, with some minor publications, sharing stories of truths that nobody wants to talk about. Public speaking in hopes to offer a relatable person in a raw, real, and transparent way.
They have dedicated much of their time to nonprofits supporting causes that have been close to their heart. Most recently, they have poured into one they founded in their daughter’s name, focused on efforts to support humans and their families as they navigate their journey through a rare disorder.
They advocate for people to tell their stories and live their lives of independence and freedoms from abusive pasts.
They bring a voice to those who have not yet found the courage, truth and light where the darkness has tried to hide and asks critical questions within the community to ensure every human can share their voice and live their truth.
After working close within the ORPC world as a Parent/Child/Family Advocate, they decided to pursue social work to off consulting services for parents involved in dependency and neglect cases and high conflict divorce/custody actions.
They believe if the child(ren) are safe and the parents in these cases are actively and consistently moving forward to do better that families should stay intact and united.
They are a firm believer that actions do speak louder than words and that is why they worked so hard on psychoeducation and supporting the Parents/Families that wanted to do more than talk about change rather the ones who are driven to proactively do what it takes to change for the sake of themselves and their children.
While a current Certified Paralegal, and soon to be an upcoming Licensed Social Worker the end goal is to complete Law School to work within the community to help those who are unable to solely help themselves without the stressors and pressures of finances.
Navigating through roads that have commonality or a brand-new path, they never stop contemplating how they can further be a part of change and resolution.
Their instincts are trustworthy, and their passion is fierce.
They have been through it.
After escaping an abusive marriage, surviving a two year’s long continuous divorce and practicing patience daily through hostile co-parenting they have seen and lived through some of the worst scenarios.
While they did not always do everything right at the start, they have developed a clear understanding of how to navigate some of the most difficult situations through compassion, and patience.
They understand that you may feel ashamed of your choice for a separation or divorce, feeling like a failure is what is stated all too often.
They understand that you may be afraid of your choice, scared that you won’t be able to be successful on your own.
They understand your needs.
The need to be supported mentally and emotionally as you enter a season you never thought you would face.
They have been through that.
They have grown and developed their own system to support your journey through that as well.
